The coldest month in Cēsis. Daytime temperatures are around -4°C and drop to -10°C or lower at night. The city is usually covered in a thick layer of snow, and the air is dry and freezing.

February

A continuation of deep winter with an average temperature of -3°C. Snow accumulation reaches its peak. Days begin to lengthen slightly, but eastern winds can make it feel much colder.

March

The beginning of the spring transition, though snow usually remains until the end of the month. Daytime temperatures rise to 3°C. Lakes around the city begin to shed their ice layers.

April

Spring truly arrives. Temperatures jump to 10°C. Snow disappears quickly and the ground starts to dry. Weather is volatile, shifting from sunny days to cold rain.

May

The most blooming month. 17°C during the day. Everything turns vibrant green, and days are very bright and pleasant for walking through the Old Town and castle ruins.

June

The start of summer and the "White Nights." 20°C during the day. The sun barely sets, and the forest air is very fresh. Rainfall begins to increase.

July

The warmest month. 22°C during the day and 12°C at night. Warm days can sometimes reach 28°C. High chance of short, refreshing afternoon thunderstorms.

August

Continuation of pleasant summer with 21°C. Nights start to cool down toward 11°C. Toward the end of the month, early autumn signs appear in the crisp morning air.

September

Start of the "Golden Autumn." 16°C during the day. Trees turn yellow and orange. The air is crisp and dry, making it one of the most photogenic months.

October

Significant cooling to 9°C. Foliage is at its peak, but days become grey and rainier. Winds strengthen and daylight hours shorten significantly.

November

A dark and chilly month with 3°C. Skies are often covered in low clouds, and there is a high chance of the first sleet or snow.

December

Winter officially returns. -1°C during the day and -5°C at night. Christmas lights reflect in the fresh snow, creating a festive atmosphere in the Old Town.
