General Overview

Guadalajara enjoys a humid subtropical climate. Situated at an altitude of approximately 1,566 meters (5,138 feet), the city experiences remarkably pleasant weather often referred to as "eternal spring". Unlike Mexico City, Guadalajara is warmer throughout most of the year, yet it still retains a certain freshness due to its elevation.

Summer and Rainy Season (June to September)

Summer coincides with the rainy season in Guadalajara. Daytime temperatures are pleasant and warm, ranging from 26°C to 28°C (79-82°F). Rain typically falls in the late afternoon or evening, often as dramatic thunderstorms that clear the air. Humidity rises during this period, but light breezes maintain a comfortable feel.

Winter and Dry Season (November to February)

Winter is the driest, clearest, and most pleasant season for visiting. Days are sunny and warm (around 24°C/75°F), and nights are fresh and cool (around 10°C/50°F). Unlike Mexico City, nights here are less freezing, making sitting outside in the evenings very enjoyable.

Spring Season (March to May)

Spring is the hottest season in Guadalajara. During these months, before the arrival of the rains, daytime temperatures can climb above 32°C (90°F), and the air is very dry. This is the time when the city is filled with the spectacular purple blooms of the Jacaranda trees.

Peak of the rains. Daytime temperatures drop to a comfortable 27°C (81°F). The air is humid and vegetation is very green.

Rainy and humid. Frequent afternoon showers and comfortable daytime temperatures of 27°C (81°F).

Still very rainy. Daytime temperatures around 26°C (79°F). The air is fresh and pleasant for tours between showers.

October

Transition to the dry season. Rainfall decreases and daytime temperatures are very pleasant (27°C/81°F).

Dry and sunny. Warm days (26°C/79°F) and nights become cooler (12°C/54°F). Excellent time to visit.
