General Overview

Nezahualcóyotl features a subtropical highland climate. Located in the Valley of Mexico at an elevation of approximately 2,220 meters, its weather is nearly identical to Mexico City. However, being situated on a flatter, more open plain (the former bed of Lake Texcoco), it can be slightly more exposed to winds and dust during the dry season.

Summer and Rainy Season (June to September)

Summer is the rainy season in Neza. Daytime temperatures are very comfortable, ranging from 24°C to 26°C (75-79°F). Rain usually occurs in the late afternoon or evening as intense but brief showers. Due to urban infrastructure and its low basin location, the area is occasionally prone to localized flooding after heavy rainfall.

Winter and Dry Season (November to February)

Winter is dry, clear, and cool. Days are pleasant and sunny (around 21°C/70°F), but due to clear skies and air inversion in the valley, nights and early mornings can be very cold, dropping to 5°C (41°F) or less.

Spring Season (March to May)

Spring is the warmest season. Before the rains begin, daytime temperatures can climb to 27°C (81°F) and sometimes reach 30°C (86°F). Due to dryness and winds, light dust storms may occur, coming from the nearby dried-up lake areas.

Peak precipitation. Daytime temperatures around 23°C (73°F). High humidity and mostly cloudy skies.

Transition to the dry season. Rainfall decreases and daytime temperatures are pleasant (23°C/73°F). Nights cool down.

Dry and sunny. Very pleasant days (22°C/72°F) and nights become cool (8°C/46°F).

December

Completely clear and dry. Good touring weather during the day (21°C/70°F) but very cold at night (6°C/43°F).
