General Overview
Kfar Blum is characterized by a distinct valley climate with continental influences. Due to its location at a low point in the Hula Valley, the kibbutz experiences more extreme weather conditions than the surrounding mountain settlements: heavy heat and high humidity in summer, and intense cold with frost phenomena in winter.
Summer Season and Warm Months
Summer in Kfar Blum is very hot. Due to the valley's topographic structure, hot air tends to get "trapped" in the area, and noon temperatures frequently climb above 35°C (95°F). Humidity is relatively high due to the proximity to water sources (the Jordan River and nearby streams), creating heavy heat stress, though the kibbutz's pools and streams provide vital relief.
Winter Season and Precipitation
Winter in Kfar Blum is very cold and rainy. The area enjoys healthy precipitation levels (about 500-600 mm annually). A unique winter phenomenon in the kibbutz is "frost" – on clear nights, cold air flows from the Galilee and Golan mountains and accumulates on the valley floor, causing temperatures to drop below 0°C (32°F) and forming a layer of frost on lawns and orchards.
Transition Seasons and Special Phenomena
Transition seasons are short and characterized by picturesque morning mists over the streams and fields. Spring brings rich blooms and spectacular bird migrations over the valley. In autumn, a rapid drop in temperatures can be felt as soon as the sun sets behind the Ramim Ridge.

January
The coldest month. Daytime temperatures hover around 15°C (59°F), and at night they drop to an average of 6°C (43°F), with frequent frost events. This is the peak of the rainy season, and the valley is often shrouded in mist.
February
Winter continues with significant rainfall. Temperatures remain low, and the view of the snow-capped Mount Hermon from the kibbutz gives a European feel. It is an excellent time to see the streams at peak flow.
March
March brings the onset of spring. Days warm to about 19°C (66°F), but nights are still very cold. The blooming of orchards around the kibbutz begins to paint the valley in white and pink.
April
Ideal spring weather. Daytime temperatures are very comfortable (about 24°C/75°F) and humidity is low. Visibility is excellent, making it one of the most pleasant months for traveling in the region.
May
Temperatures rise sharply toward 29°C (84°F). Days become sunny and rain diminishes until it disappears. The heat starts to be felt, but the relative dryness still allows for outdoor activities.
June
The start of the hot summer. Noon temperatures cross 32°C (90°F). The Jordan River and the pool become the center of life in the kibbutz. Skies are completely clear.
July
A very hot and oppressive month. Daytime temperatures hover around 35°C (95°F), and humidity from vegetation and water adds to the heat stress. Nights are warm and do not provide significant relief.
August
The peak of heat. Daytime temperatures can reach 37°C (99°F) or more. The valley air is often stagnant without wind. This is the most climatically challenging month in Kfar Blum.
September
Autumn begins with slight signs of temperature drops (about 33°C/91°F during the day). Nights begin to cool slightly, and migratory birds start appearing in the valley skies.
October
Significant relief. Temperatures drop to 28°C (82°F) during the day, and nights become pleasant and cool (about 16°C/61°F). First rains may occur, cleaning the air of summer dust.
November
Entry into winter. Temperatures drop to 21°C (70°F) during the day, and the atmosphere becomes cool and rainy. Days shorten, and the landscape begins to turn green again.
December
Winter officially returns. Frequent rainy days and temperatures around 16°C (61°F) during the day. Nights become very cold (about 8°C/46°F), and mists return to cover the valley in the morning.
