Climate Characteristics of Namur

General Overview

Namur features a temperate oceanic climate. Due to its valley location surrounded by hills, the city experiences weather conditions that are slightly less stable than those on the coastal plain. Humidity is high year-round due to the confluence of two rivers, which affects the perceived temperature and creates frequent fogs.

Summer Season and Warm Months

Summer in Namur is pleasant and warm, but rarely scorching. Average daytime temperatures range between 22°C and 24°C (72-75°F). This is an excellent time for visiting the Citadel overlooking the city, but one should note that thunderstorms and summer showers are very typical for this region due to the valley's topography.

Winter Season and Precipitation
