Climate Characteristics of Sundsvall

Where North Meets South

Sundsvall enjoys a unique geographical position, granting it a humid-maritime climate with continental influences. Surrounded by two prominent hills (Norra and Södra Stadsberget), the historic "Stone City" is protected from harsh winds. Unlike the south, winters are stable and snowy, yet much milder than in the Arctic north.
